Classification of superficial mycoses can be difficult - some text books will quote some superficial mycoses as being cutaneous mycoses, so watch out!

Transmission TRANSMISSION
Spread is by personal contact with an infected person
Baths and showers, towels, bed linen etc
Treatment - topical application of miconazole nitrate or griseofulvin

Grisofulvin orally - enters bloodstream and passed to skin where it inhibits fungal growth.
