Apex angle based computer simulation of the gravitropic reaction

Java applet with computer simulation of gravitropic reaction must be opened here. Currently Java is supported by Netscape Naigator and Microsoft Internet explorer.

This program is Java realisation of our earlier models, created by the late Alvydas Stočkus. It predicts, how the apex angle changes during the process of the gravitropic reaction. The program also presents the experimental data from its built-in data base.

To modify external factors such as the strength of the gravity vector and initial angle of orientation, use the corresponding dialog fields in the bottom of the applet .

You can also modify parameters and see how this changes the model behaviour. Simply edit the value to the right of the parameter name. The meanings of parameters are given in comments to the right of the value. More detailed explanations can be found in mathematical description.

Finally, you can put your own experimental data in the data field. Your data, including the error bars, will be presented similarly as the data obtained from built-in sets.

The model was fitted to the gravitropic reaction of different objects. The drop-down box in the top right of the applet lets you see these various cases. The box defines as current the set of parameters (for the model) as the current experimental data set.

To restore all values to default press the button "Reset".

Tested with Netscape Communicator 4.05 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0.
